Adam and Eve’s Post-Fall Actions - A. W. Pink
Each action of our first parents after the fall was emblematic and prophetic for it shadowed forth how their descendants too would conduct themselves.
Each action of our first parents after the fall was emblematic and prophetic for it shadowed forth how their descendants too would conduct themselves.
- They discovered their nakedness, or loss of their original purity and glory.
- They sought to hide from the One they now feared and hated.
- The actions of the guilty pair made evident the serpent’s lie.
- Their hearts were hardened by sin.
- They excused themselves themselves by self-justification.
- They blasphemously impugned God Himself.
- The fall caused a breach of affection between man and neighbor - in this case his wife, whom he loved so little as to thrust her forthcoming to receive the stroke of divine vengeance.
- They experienced physical suffering and death, both physical and spiritual.
- They descended to the level of animals.
- They became outcasts from God.
