"If God created all things, did He create evil?".
I realize that this question has been pondered since the fall of man, but have you ever heard an answer that really satisfied you completely? Maybe this will help or at least stir up the little gray cells.
But first here's a little test for you:
(I) Is darkness the opposite of light?
(2) Is cold the opposite of heat?
(3) Is evil the opposite of good?
If you answered yes to all or any of these, please rethink your answers.
Total darkness is absence of all light, not the opposite of light. The amount of darkness is determined by the degree of light.
Absolute zero is -459.67 degrees Fahrenheit. Absolute zero is the total absence of heat. The closer the thermometer moves toward absolute zero, them less amount of heat exists.
Genesis 1
1In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness covered the surface of the watery depths
The question here would be "Did God create the darkness or was it there because God had not yet created light?".
It is my contention that evil is not the opposite of good but that evil is the absence of God. If God is in it, then it is good. If God is absent from it, then it is evil. However God can and does take that which is intended for evil and use it for His glory and for the benefit of His people.
Think about it!
