50 Bible Reasons Why A Saved Person Can Never Be Lost
1—ETERNAL LIFE IS ETERNAL
"And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish" (John 10:28). If the eternal life you received as a gift from God ever ceases for any reason, it was not eternal. Those who assume some sort of spiritual life which ceases through sinful living, a change of beliefs, or for any other reason— did not have eternal life. To be truly eternal, it must go on forever.
2--EVERLASTING LIFE IS EVERLASTING
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life" (John 5:24). As stated above, if everlasting life ever ceases for any reason—it was not "everlasting" by the obvious definition of the word. That life which God gives to the believer must not end at any time, or it was never "everlasting life" in the first place.
3—IT IS NEVER THE WILL OF GOD FOR A SAVED PERSON TO BE LOST
"And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing" (John 6:39). Since Ephesians 1:11 says that God "worketh all .things after the counsel of his own will," His will must be fulfilled in preserving your salvation.
4—YOU ALREADY HAVE RESERVATIONS IN HEAVEN
"To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you" (I Pet. 1:4). Also, Matthew 19:29 says that this inheritance includes everlasting life.
5—THIS SALVATION THAT YOU HAVE INHERITED IS INCORRUPTIBLE
"To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you" (I Pet. 1:4). Neither you nor Satan nor anyone else can corrupt that which God has declared to be incorruptible.
6—THIS SALVATION THAT YOU HAVE INHERITED CANNOT BE DEFILED
"To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you" (I Pet. 1:4). Neither you nor Satan nor anyone else can defile that which God has declared to be undefiled.
7--AT SALVATION YOU WERE SEALED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT
"In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation': in whom also after that ye believed, ye Were sealed with that holy Spirit- of promise" (Eph. 3). No power. on earth or in 'Heaven can break the seal set in place by Omnipotence.
8—THIS SEAL IS SET IN PLACE FOR A SPECIFIC PERIOD OF TIME
"And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption" (Eph. 4:30). The "Day of Redemption" is the time of resurrection when you, as a' believer, enter your glorified body.
9—THE HOLY SPIRIT IS PROMISED TO ABIDE WITH YOU FOREVER
"And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom- the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you" (John 14:16, 17). The coming of the Holy Spirit at salvation to indwell the believer is a permanent transaction which lasts forever.
10—YOU ARE PRESERVED FOREVER,-
"for the Lord loveth' judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off" (Ps. 37:28). The Bible identifies all who have been saved by the grace of God as "saints.” And "his saints . . . are preserved forever."
11—YOU HAVE BEEN BORN OF GOD AND CANNOT BE UNBORN
"But as many as., received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of. God, even to them that believe on his name; Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God" (John 1:12, 13). To facilitate our understanding of salvation, the Lord Jesus likened receiving eternal life to physical birth. He called it being "born again.” That analogy would be destroyed if someone who has been born of God could, at some future time, be unborn.
12—YOU HAVE BEEN CREATED BY GOD AND CAN NEVER BE UNCREATED
"Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature" (II Cor. 5:17). -"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works" (Eph. 2:10). There is only one Creator, and that which He created cannot be uncreated.
13—YOU ARE TWICE AS SAFE AS THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNIVERSE
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder [singular] " (Isa. 9:6). ‘ And when he hath found it [His sheep], he layeth it on his shoulders [plural), rejoicing" (Luke 15:5). The Bible pictures the Lord Jesus as having the government of the universe upon His shoulder (singular), and the saved person upon His shoulders (plural). By Bible reckoning, you are twice as secure as the government of the universe.
14—YOU ARE PRESERVED UNTO THE HEAVENLY KINGDOM
"And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen" (II Tim. 4:18). This was the testimony of the Apostle Paul by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, but it is our. testimony as well, because the Bible says that "God is no respecter of persons.” If He will preserve Paul, He will preserve you.
15—YOU ARE KEPT BY THE POWER OF GOD
.. kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time" (I Pet. 1:5). Your salvation comes, by grace, "through faith," but you are "kept by the power of God.” How could anyone kept by the power of God ever fail to be kept?
16—YOU ARE SECURE BECAUSE THE LORD JESUS HAS PRAYED THAT YOU WOULD BE "Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me. : .” (John 17:11). When God the Son prays that you will be kept, you may rest assured that His prayer will be answered.
17—SALVATION IS BY GRACE AND WORKS CANNOT AFFECT IT
"And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work" (Rom. 11:6). "Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law" (Rom. 3:28). Salvation cannot be lost by committing some future deeds because deeds have no effect on salvation. Works do not obtain salvation. Works do not retain salvation. "And if by grace, then is it no more of works."
18—YOU HAVE CEASED FROM YOUR OWN WORKS
"For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his" (Heb. 4:10). When you enter into the rest of salvation and rest upon the finished work of Christ, you cease from any dependence upon" your own works to save you or to keep you saved.
19—NOTHING CAN SEPARATE YOU FROM THE LOVE: OF CHRIST
"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities,-nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, Mall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Rom. 8:38, 39). "The love of Christ" in this passage describes salvation. It is the love spoken of by John the apostle when he said, "He that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him."
Are you afraid that future sins may cause you to lose your salvation? He says: "Things to come" cannot. Are you afraid that Satan, or perhaps you, yourself, might separate you from this saving love of Christ you have received? He says: "Nor any other creature" which includes both you and the Devil. This list is totally comprehensive. Nothing in the universe—physical or spiritual—living or dead—thought or deed—shall be able to separate us from His saving love, once we have received it.
20 – SALVATION IS OF THE LORD
"Salvation is of the Lord" (Jonah 2:9). "I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be forever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him" (Eccles. 3:14). Salvation is of the Lord, and if the Lord is the one who has saved you—"I know that whatsoever God doeth, it shall be forever."
21—YOUR SALVATION IS DEPENDENT ONLY UPON GOD'S ABILITY
.. For I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day" (II Tim. 1:12). If you have committed your eternal soul to the Lord, the Bible says He is able to keep it until that day when you are with Him in His presence.
22—GOD PROMISES THAT YOU SHALL NOT COME INTO CONDEMNATION
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation" (John 5:24). This promise would be broken if one who has been' saved -eves again came into condemnation.
23—THE LORD JESUS PROM1SED THAT YOU SHALL NEVER PERISH
"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish" (John 10:27, 28). Notice that He did not make this promise conditional upon a certain lifestyle. He said unequivocally—"I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish.".
24—YOU WILL NEVER BE CAST OUT
"Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out" (John 6:37). The promise of the Lord Jesus is that for no reason, and in no way, will He ever cast out those who have been given into His care by God the Father.
25—IT WOULD NOT BE GOOD FOR YOU TO LOSE YOUR-SALVATION
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose" (Rom. 8:28). This verse is directed only toward believers. The lost do not love God (I John 4:7). How could it ever work together for your good to lose your salvation? Yet God promises that all things will work together for your good once you have received His gift of eternal life. And it would not be good for you to lose your salvation.
26—YOU ARE IN THE HAND OF CHRIST__
"And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand" (John 10:28). Some say you must" hold on and hold out" in order to be saved. The Bible says that the Lord is doing the holding.
27—YOU-ARE IN THE HAND OF GOD THE FATHER
“…no man is able to pluck them [my sheep] out of my Father's hand. 1 and my Father are one" (John 10:29, 30). This is double security. You are in both the hand of the Father and the hand of the Son. No man" includes you, so you cannot remove yourself from the hands of God.
28—YOU ARE A SHEEP AND WILL REMAIN A SHEEP
"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish ... " (John 10:27, 28). The Bible always pictures lost Gentiles as dogs and lost Jews as pigs. Salvation turns you into "a new creature" (II Cor. 5:17). Believers are pictured as sheep. No dog has ever changed himself into a sheep; only a miracle of God could accomplish that. Conversely, no sheep has ever changed himself into a dog, and neither can you.
29—SAVING MERCY NEVER ENDS
"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us...” (Titus 3:5). Twenty-six times in Psalm 136 we read, "His mercy endureth forever.” The mercy by which He saved you was not a temporary thing—it will endure forever.
30—GOD'S PERFORMANCE IS AS GOOD AS HIS PROMISE "God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” (Num. 23:19). God the Son has promised, "He that believeth on me hath everlasting life" (John 6:47). His performance is as sure as the reliability of His Word.
31—ALL YOUR SINS ARE GONE FOREVER
"As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us" (Ps. 103:12). "Thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea" (Micah 7:19). "I have blotted but, .as a thick cloud, thy transgressions" (Isa. 44:22). "Thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back" Isa. 38:17). "And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more" (Heb. 10:17). "As far as the east is from the west, SO FAR HATH HE REMOVED OUR TRANSGRESSIONS FROM US" (Ps. 103:12). "Thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea .... "; "I have blotted out, as a thick cloud thy transgressions” (Isa 44:22). "Thou hast cast all my sins behind [God's] Thy back” (Isa. 38:17) " And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more" (Heb. 10:17) “As far as the east is from the west…”, :”cast into the depths of the sea…”; “blotted out, as a thick cloud…”; cast behind {God’s} back…”; “remember no more” —all these phrases testify that ALL your sins are gone forever.
32—THE BIBLE PROMISES YOU WILL ULTIMATELY BE LIKE CHRIST
"Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is" (I John 3:2). "We shall be like him" is not a statement of possibility but a statement of absolute certainty.
33—YOU ARE ALREADY GLORIFIED BY GOD'S RECKONING
"Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified" (Rom. 8:30). How On someone who is glorified ever be lost?
34—YOU HAVE BEEN BORN OF INCORRUPTIBLE SEED
"Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever" (I Pet. 1:23). Your new birth was accomplished by incorruptible seed, and neither Satan nor man can corrupt a birth which God has declared to be incorruptible.
35—YOU WILL APPEAR WITH CHRIST IN GLORY "When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory" (Col. 3:4). Only an omniscient God who knew your future and accepted you in spite of it, could make this promise in advance of its fulfillment. He says to every believer, 'You also shall appear with him in glory.'
36—YOU ARE HIDDEN IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
"For ye are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God" (Col. 3:3). By God's evaluation, you are dead to natural life. The only life you have is the eternal life which He has given you, and it is hidden in such a way that Satan cannot find it.
37—YOU ARE DEAD JO SIN
"How shall we that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” (Rom. 6:2). "For he that is dead is freed from sin" (Rom. 6:7). Obviously you, as a believer, are not freed from the possibility of sinning. This terminology refers to the believer's identification with Christ. Because we died in Christ, we are dead to the eternal effects of sin. Therefore, no sin can now affect our eternal security.
38—YOU ARE SECURE BECAUSE THE LORD IS NOW PRAYING FOR YOU
"Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them" (Heb. 7:25). With the Lord Jesus continually interceding for the believer, your salvation is to the "uttermost"—to the "full end-ed ," as it is in the Greek.
39—GOD WILL FINISH WHAT HE HAS STARTED
"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun good work in you will perform i until the day of Jesus Christ" (Phil. 1:6). God, having begun the work of salvation in your life, will continue to perform that work until it is fully accomplished.
40—YOUR SALVATION WAS OBTAINED FOR YOU BY THE LORD
"Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption- for us". (Heb. 9:12). By his own blood stained eternal redemption": W simply receive the eternal redemption the Lord Jesus has obtained for Us. Because He obtained it once He obtained it forever.
41—YOUR LIFE AND THE LORD'S LIFE ARE ONE AND THE SAME
"When Christ, who is our life shall appear, then shall ye also a pear with him in glory".(Col. 3:4). "Christ... is our life.” How can we lose our life unless He loses His life again? Since the Lord Jesus will never die and He is our life, we, of necessity, have a life which will never end.
42--GOD'S COVENANT WITH YOU IS EVERLASTING
"Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant ..." (Heb. 13:20). "And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me" (Jer. 32:40). A covenant is an agreement, and God's agreement with the believer is to give you everlasting life through the blood of Christ.
43—THE LORD JESUS IS ABLE TO KEEP YOU FROM FALLING
"Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy ..." (Jude 24). Not only is the Lord able to keep you from falling— He is willing. "... not willing that any should perish" (II Pet. 3:9). This is the answer to those who suggest that "falling from grace" is a means of losing your salvation.
44—WHEN JESUS DIED FOR YOU—ALL YOUR SINS WERE FUTURE SINS
"And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd" (John 10:16). Here the Lord Jesus spoke of your salvation. He said that He had other sheep which were not of the Jewish fold, speaking of the Gentiles who would be saved in a day, yet future. Your future sins cannot cause you to lose your salvation because when the Lord Jesus died for you every sin in your life was a future sin. You had not yet been born.
.
45—GOD CANNOT LIE
"... in hope of eternal life, which God, that Cannot lie, promised before the world began" (Titus 1:2). God cannot lie, and He has said of all true believers, "They shall never perish" (John 10:28); "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life" (John 3:36); and many 'similar statements
46—SALVATION IS A GIFT WHICH WILL NOT BE RETRACTED
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Rom. 6:23). "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast" (Eph. 2:8, 9). "For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.” (Rom. 11:29). The word "repentance" is the word "irrevocable" in the Greek. Once God gives the gift of eternal life to someone, it is irrevocable.
47—YOU HAVE IMPUTED RIGHTEOUSNESS
"Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered" (Rom, 4:6, 7). To "impute" righteousness means to bestow by divine reckoning. If your righteousness was earned, you could lose your salvation by unrighteous action. Because righteousness has been imputed to you, based solely on the merits of Christ, your righteousness could be lost only if He became unrighteous.
48—YOU HAVE BECOME PART OF CHRIST HIMSELF
"For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.” (Eph. 5:30). At salvation, we become "one flesh" with Christ who is the heavenly Bridegroom. This is spiritual truth, but there is no scriptural foundation for denying it to be literally true as well. "For in him we live, and move, and have our being" (Acts 17:28) is a Bible truth which must certainly, have a more intimate meaning for those who are "in Christ` Cor. 5:17). Consequently, the flesh and bones: of Christ cannot be continually torn apart by: men and women losing their salvation.
49—THE LORD JESUS IS THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF YOUR FAITH
"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God" (Heb. 12:2). Not only is the Lord Jesus described as the "author" of your faith, to begin it, He is also described as the "finisher," to end it. If you were to lose your salvation somewhere along the way, He would cease to be what the Bible declares Him to be in your life.
50—THE AUTHORITY OF THE BIBLE
"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life" (I John 5:13). "There hath not failed one word of all his good promise" (I Kings 8:56). "The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever" (Isa. 40:8).
The first 49 Bible reasons why a saved person can never be lost are the proof for Reason 50—the authority of the Bible. By inspiration, the Spirit of God said, "These things have I written … that ye may know that ye have eternal life.” God says we can "know" that we have life in Christ which will have no end, because of the things He has written in His Word to those who believe.
The Bible is its own authority. A saved person can never be lost because there are 50 Bible Reasons Why a Saved Person Can Never Be Lost, and "the word of-our God shall stand for ever.
In closing one can take comfort in the commitment that Jesus made to His Father in John 17:2
John 17:2 "as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him.
May I extend the verse with commentary within the verse according to the original test spoken by our Lord?
John 17:2 "as You (Father) have given Him (Jesus) authority (liberty to do as one pleases) over all flesh (all humans or mankind), that He (Jesus) should give eternal life (Redemption or Salvation) to as many as You (Father) have given Him (Jesus).
If you have been born again then a promise between the Son and Father takes charge of your destiny. Seven times in chapter 17 Jesus mentions about those the Father has given Him and He promises not to loose them.

"And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish" (John 10:28). If the eternal life you received as a gift from God ever ceases for any reason, it was not eternal.
