God’s Self-Evident Moral Principles (A. A. Hodge 1823-1886)
- God cannot be the author of sin.
- God cannot create a creature with a sinful nature.
- The perfection of righteousness, not God’s sovereignty, is the grand distinction of all God’s dealing.
- God’s freedom is not limited by the “order of nature” or “the nature of things” or “natural law” nor are these things independent concause in producing effects.
- We cannot believe that God would inflict moral or physical evil upon any creature whose natural rights had not been previously forfeited.
